The Roses@ Ohio Renfest

We went to the Ohio Ren Fest this weekend and saw these awesome guys, this is a short clip my husband made of them!!!

I also got fitted for a corset by the girls at http://www.Ren-Fashions.com and I was going to buy one but they suggested I get one 13 to 14 inches long and they didn't have any with them :( So I was going to order online but.... their server is down... Which sucks!!! We are going back in two weeks so maybe by then they will have one there or I will have ordered one from them online :) I'm very excited, I've never owned a real, really well made corset before. I have made a few, one out of duct tape, but I've never had one as well made as these!!!

Living With the Dead: Adapting

Living With the Dead: Adapting: "The team left out to get Aaron and his people a while ago, and we are hoping they will be back before dinner. I have my doubts that they will..."

Zombies, they aren't just myth anymore.

Gluten free today.

I have made it all day! 2 points for me:)

This week end while at Half Price Books, I met Kitty! Who was covered in chainmaille. We talked for a bit, and she gave me her card. And here is her ETSY, please go check her out!

This drought is killing our grass!!! ^_^ I am so happy. I was going to dig it up any was so we could but down various ground covers so that we wouldn't have to mow.

One of our dogs was on a hunger strike... So I put peanut butter on his food today, and lets just say that I am a winner.

We are hopefuly going to go and check out the new Mitsubishi electric car this weekend!
I am excited about that, it looks so cute.

Gluten

Going gluten free is so hard. I keep making it a few days in and then...giving in and eating cereal, or something. And it sucks because I can tell a difference when I don't eat it. I know I need to stay away from it.

I'm glad that the weather is getting cooler out, so now I can distract my self from craving by doing yard work.

We have a bunch of raised beds to build. And a lot of strawberry plants to transplant for next year.

henna

I have some Jamila henna marinating on my head right now... two more hours to go before I need to wash it out.

I have henna'ed my hair before, earlier this year. But that time I used lemon juice as my liquid... which was a horrible idea. At the time I didn't know too much about hair or about the way acids and bases cause the hair to react. Well straight lemon juice is so ACIDIC that it can disintegrate the hair cuticle, which is the protective scalemaille type layer of hair. Plus lemon juice on the scalp burns a lot, I only managed to keep it on my hair for about 20 minutes. But that was enough to turn my green to a more natural light brown.

This time I used chai tea, apple cider vinegar, lavender essential oil, sweet orange essential oil, and cedarwood essential oil. I let the dye release under plastic wrap while I was at work... so for about 9 hours.

Tomorrow I will indigo, maybe tonight I'm not sure.

I will post pictures when I'm done :)
