why does "we are a team" mean...

-you have to pull everyone elses weight at work? why are people allowed to do 10% of there job and be able to keep it or even to be promoted? Why don't the places I work at just fire people that can't do the job it is really stupid.... ><

People people everywhere

Lots of people are coming over this weekend. And many are hoping for the Zombie apocalypse to start while they are here. But I hope it doesn't because that would be very creepy, plus I DON'T HAVE ANY ICE CREAM!!!! and that will not do.

Ren fest Stuff!

We managed to go the the Ohio Ren Fest twice this year! And I managed to spend a bunch of money. Here is some of my booty,

I bought some very cute socks! The only other green striped socks that I have are green and white :( So I needed more!

I have always wanted one and I actually will be needing it soon!

This soap is great! Tea Tree Soap is the only thing the clears up my acne!

My husband got a turkey leg and decided that it wasn't worth the money!

The second time I made him a cloak and some breeches :)
And I bought some scrap leather and made this...

Hair sticks

I wanted to try and make a couple of hair sticks, since I have been thinking about them a lot lately. So I went out and bought a bunch of clay and some wood and at down to work.

Here is one stick I'm not quite finished yet, but I really want to post a picture of it so I could show all of the ladies on the "Hair stick" thread on the hair forums that I post on sometimes.

I have a rook and a black pawn ready for their sticks too. I can't wait for my vacation so I can sit down and sculpt all of these ideas I have! :D

The Roses@ Ohio Renfest

We went to the Ohio Ren Fest this weekend and saw these awesome guys, this is a short clip my husband made of them!!!

I also got fitted for a corset by the girls at http://www.Ren-Fashions.com and I was going to buy one but they suggested I get one 13 to 14 inches long and they didn't have any with them :( So I was going to order online but.... their server is down... Which sucks!!! We are going back in two weeks so maybe by then they will have one there or I will have ordered one from them online :) I'm very excited, I've never owned a real, really well made corset before. I have made a few, one out of duct tape, but I've never had one as well made as these!!!

Living With the Dead: Adapting

Living With the Dead: Adapting: "The team left out to get Aaron and his people a while ago, and we are hoping they will be back before dinner. I have my doubts that they will..."

Zombies, they aren't just myth anymore.

Gluten free today.

I have made it all day! 2 points for me:)

This week end while at Half Price Books, I met Kitty! Who was covered in chainmaille. We talked for a bit, and she gave me her card. And here is her ETSY, please go check her out!

This drought is killing our grass!!! ^_^ I am so happy. I was going to dig it up any was so we could but down various ground covers so that we wouldn't have to mow.

One of our dogs was on a hunger strike... So I put peanut butter on his food today, and lets just say that I am a winner.

We are hopefuly going to go and check out the new Mitsubishi electric car this weekend!
I am excited about that, it looks so cute.

Gluten

Going gluten free is so hard. I keep making it a few days in and then...giving in and eating cereal, or something. And it sucks because I can tell a difference when I don't eat it. I know I need to stay away from it.

I'm glad that the weather is getting cooler out, so now I can distract my self from craving by doing yard work.

We have a bunch of raised beds to build. And a lot of strawberry plants to transplant for next year.

henna

I have some Jamila henna marinating on my head right now... two more hours to go before I need to wash it out.

I have henna'ed my hair before, earlier this year. But that time I used lemon juice as my liquid... which was a horrible idea. At the time I didn't know too much about hair or about the way acids and bases cause the hair to react. Well straight lemon juice is so ACIDIC that it can disintegrate the hair cuticle, which is the protective scalemaille type layer of hair. Plus lemon juice on the scalp burns a lot, I only managed to keep it on my hair for about 20 minutes. But that was enough to turn my green to a more natural light brown.

This time I used chai tea, apple cider vinegar, lavender essential oil, sweet orange essential oil, and cedarwood essential oil. I let the dye release under plastic wrap while I was at work... so for about 9 hours.

Tomorrow I will indigo, maybe tonight I'm not sure.

I will post pictures when I'm done :)

COMPOST

I need to find a fairly local compost place :) I am going to start trying to make some but that will take a while. And, I know that I need some now, as our soil is mostly clay and none of my veggy plants like that, except for all of these dang wild strawberries. But, strawberries are not veggies are they.

My strawberries are throwing runners like crazy. At first I was snipping them off so that the mother plant could use the energy to get bigger and stronger but then there were some many more I decided to just let them grow. When they get big enough I will move them to their own spot.

I also need some straw. I have asked at work to no avail. I used to see signs for free straw everyday in town and now I never see any. :(

Rock dust is on my shopping list and I will probably end up buying a 50 pound bag of it :) I'm every excited about rock dust.

Something, probably a bird, has covered both my front and back lawn in frelling Morning Glorys!!! I hate Morning Glorys and they are taking over, now I will have to work double hard on aphids.
We also have 4 other types of vineing ivy like plants on our fences and trying to take over our house, this is an endless battle when trying to do it without chemicals.

I planted some Nasturtiums and some Sweet Peas, so I hope it rains soon :D

AZ seems like a horrible place to live

There are a bunch of reasons why Arozona is a horrible place to live and here are just a few. Here's my husband ranting :)

Anna's Esscentials Soap

I picked up this awesome soap at a local farmers market. It's call
Anna's Esscentals "Bluegrass Spice of Life" Handcrafted Herbal Olive Oil Soap.

It smells wonderfully spicy and the fragrance makes your bathroom and skin smell like gingersnaps or pumpkin pie. Its smells delicious. It cleans very well and leaves the skin feeling moisturized and cleansed. It also works great as a gentle scalp shampoo.

My husband was a little sensitive to the cinnamon in it, but only when he got it in places that he shouldn't have :(

So, I give this soap a 9.5 out of 10. You guys should try it out. She has a website and she was very knowledgeable and welcoming when I spoke to her at the market.

Mailling it up

I went to go see Prince of Persia yesterday, and I couldn't stop pointing out all of the chainmaille. So I went home and made a bunch.

I will be putting a bunch of things on my etsy... soon.

Strawberries

I had planted some everbearing strawberries in a pot a few weeks ago. They finally got to big for their pots, and I finally had time to make a bed for them!

Oil Spill

I hope that one day soon, we will be mostly if not entirely dependent on renewable energy sources. Humans, we seem to march on to what grab what ever we think we need or deserve at the time and deem any risk that might lay between here and there as utterly insignificant. And when things back fire collectively we never seem to care enough.

*SIGH*

It has rained almost constantly for two days now. And I have dozens of plants that I need to get into the ground. And several rose bushes that came with the house that are going to turn into a bon fire :)

I need to to stop raining and dry up for a bit because we have a 60"x 40" area to till and get ready for veggy plants. We were told by a local neighbor to always plant and start food plants after derby and that was yesterday....

I'm getting excited about GenCon, and it is giving me a bunch of motivation to continue to get into shape.

Tacos Aquired

I just ate some tacos!!!

We might be going to GenCon this year!

Our van really REALLY doesn't like living in KY.

I am looking for a better job.

Kelp flakes do really weird things to my insides!

Going to dig up a whole bunch of the yard today!!!

My Bank sucks balls, these fees are fucking ridiculous!!! WTFF

I'm going to try and buy the Primal Blueprint next month.

NEW PHONE=BROKEN PHONE

Last light I dropped my phone for the first time :( And the outer housing cracked, lodging the power button under it. I call t-mobile today they said to call ASURION that they had to replace it because I have insurance and I just got the phone last weekend. Now the phone randomly shuts off sometimes.

Well $130 deductible... plus the $220 dollars that I had to pay to get the phone equals $350 dollars.

And the reviews I read about ASURION are nuts. I'm not gonna pay this much money and possibly get a refurb... I want a brand new phone that's why I got insurance this time.

I might be trasfering to Verison because I was an Android phone with a full key board and the DROID is calling me.

I love my G1's and I don't want to get rid of my t-mobile but I won't be trusting a company that has so many horrible reviews, or expects such steep deductibles.

G1 Aquired!!!

I finally was able to get a new G1! It's brown, one of the last three this store had! And I got insurance for it! I have already ordered cases and they are really cute.
BUT

I really wanted this one!

But I was able to get three other cases for the price of 1.5 of these!

We are going to BBQ in a few hours and maybe start a fire, in our yard!!!!

WTF T-mobile

WHAT THE FUCK T-Mobile!!!!

I just want to buy another G1! But will it show up when I'm logged on to my account?
NO NO NO NO it fucking won't!
But it will show up when I am not logged into my account.

I don't want a Clique, or a Blur, or a My Touch, or even an HTC HD2.... I want another G1 or two.
My was perfect until it fell into a cup of tea.... and I had to let the pieces dry out and scrape sugar out of it with a trim knife from work. Now months later it will randomly lose signal and the menu button on the face won't work, it won't read the SIM card or the SD card sometimes...

I need a new G1!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
For the love of god and all that is holy!!!

YAY VAN!

So we have the van stuff all figured out!

Road trip!

And the Blog is taking off!

If you would like to win a great T-Shirt that I will be designing you should go enter the contest over at http://LivingWithTheDead.net!

I'm going to be planting my 25 strawberry plants today! And this is going to be hard work!
But the rewards will be amazing!

You guys should check out this web radio show it is all about the Greek Gods and Goddesses! You can also subscribe to their you tubes!

FUNNY STUFF :(

We bought a van from another state.... and we have to get all of these special inspections before we can get the title changed over. And pay the state like 10% of the value of the vehicle.

This type of van has a issue with the Gauge Control Panel. They didn't solder the connections good so the control panel just stops working... no speedometer no gas gauge no nothing :(

So we can't afford to have the panel pulled out and re-soldered and I'm pretty sure it WON'T pass inspection...

So we kinda have a huge paper weight. It runs great though!

Chainmaille is heavy to fight in

It is really hard to fight in Chainmaille. Especially when you have been fighting for what seems like forever. It is heavy and splattered in blood, sweat and mud. But I like to sing the original Power Ranger theme song while I fight and that takes my mind of of the gore a bit. "Go go Power Rangers....do do do dodo... GO GO Power Ranger... dun dun du dun..."

When I first heard we were being attacked I decided I'd maille up just in case, and that any practice fighting in it will be good even if it isn't against zombies. BUT then there were zombies
(>_<)

I have managed to turn one of my rifles into a bayonet :D Now I just need to teach my self to duel wield them! But that will have to wait for this to be over. My short break is pretty much over... Back in to the depths I go.

Have you ever had to "Forest Gump" someone out of battle?
Trust me it isn't as cool as it sounds...

4day weekend

I can't wait until Clash of the Titans comes out! I'm already planning on seeing it a couple of times. I'm not sure it it will be better than the original but I'm sure that it will be awesome none the less.

Yeah That was fiction

My last post was an entry into my "Zombie Blog". Recently my husband started a Zombie Blog at http://LivingWithTheDead.net and it is really interesting so I figured I would start adding my own here on my blog ^_^ When my entry is for the "Zombie Blog" the color will be in red and it will be linked to his blog...
W0ot, for fictional universes!!!!

My ferrets keep trying to hump each other... and that is how I know that spring is in the air :D

Work blows right now, the suits keep trying to micro manage by appointing people who couldn't care less whether or not things run smoothly. And seem to ignore incompetence and reward ignorance and stupidity with promotions and ... well the honor of staying employed ^_^ Some days it seems like the more dunnages you can lean against or the more smoke breaks you take the more money they will pay you especially if you can't touch your own toes. Bosses ignore the rules when they are inconvenient for them. But I guess it is like that at every job.... but, I don't know, maybe I'm just a stickler for quality and giving my job 100%. I love mastering my task and totally powning it!

Well at least it seems like they are starting to get rid of some of the rift raft... You know the type. The ones who show a little bit of post baby cleavage and "get away with murder". The one's who walk around on their cell phone out on the floor, text messaging supervisors for what, to all of the world, looks like sexual propositions. Send the customers horribly bad parts, walk around with their ass cheeks hanging out of their short pants.... The one's who seem to only keep their jobs because of the really worn out pair of knee pads that they keep in their locker. Well, I think they are firing one of those... and this can only mean good things.

My husband and Elizabeth

So My husband is really wanting to relive his "manhood crisining" with Elizabeth. And well I guess that that is cool, what ever makes him happy. And, lets face it the human race needs to survive , right? So now she's moved into the house. And I get to watch Aphrodite breathe on the dying embers of a love once forgotten, while I spend most of my day making chainmaille.

I'm focusing mostly on gauntlets and leg coverings. I don't get the pleasure of making pretty necklaces and bracelets anymore. I have to make every minute of my day count, because I've been learning all of the skills knowing that one day they would come in handy, and that me knowing these seemingly random things might mean the difference between life or death.

I'm enjoying spending some of my free time sneaking out to the border of the compound and collecting various herbs. I'm becoming quite proficient with my herbalism and some of my teas are to die for... ***evil laugh***

One of the things that people may not think about when out collecting or looting are books. When ever we go out gathering supplies I always look for new books I usually try to stick with books on different crafts or skills that might turn useful. But I'm a sucker for a trashy romance novel... and my collection is growing. Plus reading out my fantasies while my husband pines for his ex lessens the pain... I hope to find a couple of my ex's, I will have to start asking around ^_^ Josh may not like that very much but hey....

IN A WORLD OVERRUN BY ZOMBIES, A GIRL HAS TO GET HER'S.

Living With the Dead: Unexpected

Living With the Dead: Unexpected

Bananas every where

So I've been away for a long while. I've gone through various sicknesses and chemical imbalances. I would love to say that BLOGGING is fun. But I don't have the drive to do much now a days. Making it to work every night and bringing home a pay check every two weeks is a win in my book.

My Husband is about half way through the book he has been working on! W0Ot!!!
Plus he started it BLOG and it is going along very well ^_^
Nicktoons is playing Invader Zim this month and our DVR is going to be full! I don't know how I managed to miss this show back when it was newly on the air...

I'm planning a Quest to Mideval Times. There will be a date set eventually and costumes made and hotels booked... eventually.

I saw and old friend this weekend and that helped make for a good weekend off!!!

I need help looking for blue, purple, and white flowers for the garden.. because it is that season :D

Candles and Soaps

I am teaching myself how to make soap and candles! It is very interesting. Soap in particular is a ancient art. I love the science aspect of making soap and the fact that I will know exactly what are in my body products.
Candle making is also a very old art. I'm not sure which came first I will have to look that up. I want to make candles to refill all of my glass candle containers. I figure it will safe money and also be small way for me to recycle.

CUTE THING FOR TODAY!!!

SAD THINGS FOR TODAY v_v

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is closing!
Though I saw it coming after Six Flags took them over! The food sucked and those awfull characters walking around ruined it for me and my friends. If it hadn't been for that we would have gone a hell of a lot more often! Oh yeah and then that poor child had her feet cut off on the Hell-evator. They changed its name but ... Six Flags changed a lot. Like turning a functioning theme park into a closed fair grounds.
v_v Sorry KK I will miss you!picture curtsy of

My Brown Bear left for Basic Training yesterday!
He will be back but then he will be moving to where his specific training will be. I will miss him a lot. :(

Organic Raw Juice v_v

I bought some organic raw juice from whole foods a few hours ago. I've never had it before and it looked good. Boy, this stuff was bad. It smelled like vinegar after it exploded all over the car! And the yeast cultures they used to make it... fizzy were coagulated into a thick mat of stuff that looked like algae v_v

Anywho... I bought a couple of books to day at Joseph-Beth!. And an adorable employee named James talked to me for a while. Did I mention James was adorable? He had long had and was very well-spoken.

I bought "Tigana" by Guy Garvriel Kay. The cover looks like of steam punkish, but we will see.
And " The Master Book of Herbalism" by Paul Beyerl. I've been meaning to start a collection of herbalism books and I finally managed to get one :) I can't wait to start reading it to prepare for my garden!
I also got a magazine called "Starting From Seed" I read a little of it on the car ride home and it was really good.
